So that you may be
assured of receiving the fine quality you expect when you specify
All Style Industries' Standard Storm Collars, we include the
following sample specification for your convenience.
The Standard
Storm Collar is manufactured in the United States from first
quality, non-recycled EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)
giving our Collars excellent UV stability and good resistance
to
heat,
ozone and sunlight with good flexibility at low temperatures
and resistance to alkalis, acids and oxygenated solvents. Material
has a temperature range of -40 F to +180 F without losing flexibility.
No plastic resin materials are used, assuring long life with
a 20 year product guarantee.
Collars are designed to waterproof
single or closely grouped multiple pipe roof penetrations where
the penetration can be disconnected. Collars counter flash roof
jack flashings that have been installed into a roofing system.
Storm Collar assemblies float above each corresponding roof jack
and allow free movement or expansion of the penetrating pipe
or group of pipes. Storm Collars are not attached
to the jack flashing assembly or to the roof membrane thereby
creating a venting solution for the roof assembly.
Choose the Storm Collar
design that is pre-molded with the correct number of holes for
the application being waterproofed. These holes or rubber nipples
extend perpendicular from the top of the Collar and is recessed
to accept a 1/2" wide Stainless Steel band clamp that compresses
the nipple and holds the Storm Collar tightly onto the penetration.
The conical shape of the Collar creates a waterproof umbrella.
