 The Retro-Spin
Flashing Kit® includes
one Retro-Spin Flashing® assembly and one Retro-Split
Storm Collar®
assembly. A Retro-Spin Flashing Kit® enables the
installation of a new jack flashing around fixed roof penetrations,
which don't allow for an 'over the top' flashing installation.
Both the Retro-Spin Flashing® and the Retro-Split
Collar® allow a
flashing installation from the side, allowing for a quick and
easy installation of a fully waterproofed flashing around all
types of roof penetrations.
All Retro-Spin Flashings® are
manufactured with a 3 inch diameter opening. Not all roof penetrations
will fit snugly and therefore it is necessary to counter flash
the penetration using a waterproof Retro-Split
Collar®.
A Retro-Split
Collar® is made of
EPDM rubber and includes a top plug that is molded with the correct
geometric shape. It is sized to exactly match the roof penetration.
It is necessary to order the correct sized Retro-Split
Collar® plug
in order to maintain a waterproof assembly. Please contact us so
that we can help you with this if needed.
 Until now there has been no easy way to
replace the flashing on penetrations such as the electric service
mast, because flashings don't open up and are installed over the
top of a pipe. To get a new flashing installed the old way, the
electric service for the entire house would need to be turned off
for a day or so. However, with the Retro-Spin Flashing Kit®, simply
spin it on around the pipe and spin it closed. All you will need
is a hammer and nails. It's that simple. The electricity won't
need to be turned off and you won't have to worry about callbacks.
