Retro-Split Storm Collar®
The Retro-Split
Collar® is a storm collar that is used to waterproof
roof penetrations that cannot easily be taken apart or disassembled.
Our waterproofing Collars are designed to counterflash a roof
jack flashing that has been installed into a roofing system
when an 'over the top' installation is not possible or desired.
Retro-Split
Collars® open
to allow an installation from the side. Our Collars have wraparound
skirts with waterproof 'push together' locks.  However,
the secret to the versatility of the Retro-Split
Collar® is the
top plug geometry, which enables the Collars to conform to
any shape. Virtually any geometry
can be waterproofed using just a screwdriver. How simple does
it get?
Retro-Split Collars®  were
created for angle iron supports that cannot be easily taken apart
for top installations. There are instances where round,
square, or angle iron posts are used for equipment screens, fences
or signs. It is difficult to seal a round flashing around a square
or angle post, giving professional roofers little choice in the
past other than to use unreliable 'pitch pockets' for these
locations, until now...

The
Retro-Split Storm Collar® 'splits' open, allowing
you to wrap it around the penetration. Once tightened
with a hose clamp, you have a clean and effective waterproof
assembly, as shown in figures 1-3. |
We offer three sizes of Retro-Split
Collars® which waterproof diameters up to and including
12 inches. The three sizes are 3 inches,
6 inches and 12 inches. This range of sizes can
accomodate penetrations with any geometric shape that can fit
inside 3, 6 or 12 inch diameters.
All of our Collars are made in the USA
from first quality, non-recycled EPDM rubber that is exceptionally
resistant to heat, ozone and acid rain environments. Plastic resin
materials are not used on any part of our Retro-Split Collars® so
that they exhibit a long life of 20 years.
